Elections to the Storting - parliamentary elections - are held Monday 8 September 2025 in Strand municipality.
Who can vote?
You have to meet certain criteria to be eligible to vote in parliamentary elections. You must:
- be a Norwegian citizen
- be at least 18 by the end of the election year 2025
- be, or once have been, registered in the Population Register as resident in Norway
Identification
You must show your ID to cast your vote. Examples of valid identification include a passport, driving licence/ digital driving licence or bank card with your photo. You can also use other types of identification. As a minimum, the identification must contain your name, date of birth and a facial photo.
How do you vote?
The election takes place by attending in person at a polling station on election day - Monday 8 September, or by casting an advance vote. If you have voted in advance, this is the one that applies. You can freely decide whether you want to vote in advance or vote on election day.
Get help to vote
Contact an electoral officer if you have questions or need guidance when voting. Electoral staff have a duty of confidentiality.
Do you have a mental or physical disability that prevents you from voting alone? Then you are entitled to get help to vote from an election worker or another person of your choice.
Advance votes
Advance votes can be cast from Monday 11 August until and including Friday 5 September in any municipality in the country.

Voting at home in advance
Voters who due to illness or disability cannot go to a polling station can apply to vote at home. Two election workers will come to your home and receive your vote. You can only vote at home in advance, not on the election day.
The deadline for applying to vote in your home due to illness or disability in the pre-voting period, is Thursday 4 September at 12 p.m. You can apply by email to postmottak@strand.kommune.no or by phone 51743000 weekdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Advance votes from abroad
Voters who live or stay abroad can vote in advance at Norwegian embassies and other foreign stations or at other appointed polling stations from 1 July to 29 August.

Voting on election day
In Strand you can vote at three locations on election day 8 September: Fiskå, Tau and Jørpeland. Polling stations and opening hours will be updated.
